GBI Surveys was founded in 2024 by Steve Wardle, bringing expert surveying to Great Barrier Island.

A registered Cadastral Surveyor, Steve has worked on a wide range of projects: as Survey Manager for a major gas project in Queensland, a civil construction firm in Auckland, and as a Cadastral Surveyor in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. He has also completed contract work in Malaysia and the Philippines.

Steve is a proud member of Survey + Spatial New Zealand and the Institute of Cadastral Surveying NZ, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence.

Now firmly settled on Aotea (Great Barrier Island), Steve provides friendly, professional advice and reliable surveying services to local landowners and builders.
